Angela Taylor, BA, PBED, Masters of Disability Studies Student
Angela is our Founder/Executive Director. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She has her Post Bacc in Education, focusing on inclusion, and is currently enrolled in the Disability Studies Masters program at the University of Manitoba, while continuing other on-going training opportunities.
Lisa Van Den Hoven, BA
Lisa is our Lead Strategist and acts a a consultant for training, programming and development. She has supported many community initiatives with other groups including Winnipeg Babywearers and local parenting groups. She has a certificate from the University of Manitoba in Applied Behavior Analysis and has extensive experience working with special populations: seniors with dementia, teens with various developmental disorders, preschool and school age kids with ASDs including PD.
Kendra is our Volunteer Coordinator/Consultant. She has a great deal of experience with youth, providing counselling and health education for a variety of communities within Winnipeg. She works at
NorWest Co-op Community Health providing
health services and counselling.
Monica Burfoot, BN
Monica is our lead volunteer at Inspire. She is a BN and is gifted at working with families of all variations. She facilitates, teaches & guides various groups of parents & youth within our various programs & supports curriculum development. She is currently working towards her Masters of Education with a specialization on Adult and Post-Secondary Education.
Kate Dubberley, Head – Research Committee
Kate Dubberley received her Master’s in Psychology at the University of Manitoba. Her areas of specialization in the social sciences include control theory, mindfulness and emotions. Kate offers mentorship to professionals, academics, and students in a variety of social science disciplines, from content expertise to research and quality improvement strategies.

Janet is our Media Manager. She is a graduate of Creative Communications at Red River College and currently studying Digital Media Design with a specialization in Web Development & Interactive Media. Having previous roles with Arts & Disability Network Manitoba, Career Trek & Sarasvati Productions, Janet’s passions lie in marketing and development for local non-profits creating valuable opportunities for Winnipeg youth.
Facilitator – Alice is a trained and certified Montessori Teacher with a great deal of experience both professionally and personally in the field of Mental Health and recovery. Alice immigrated from England, where she studied Social and Developmental Psychology, Student and Child Counselling, and Child Growth and Development. She has had extensive training in a number of positive Mental Wellness Courses: Harm Reduction, Distress Tolerance, Communication and Assertiveness, Developing the Self, Creating Positive Coping Strategies, Addressing Distorted and Black and White Thinking, Emotional Self Regulation, DBT, CBT, and Mindfulness.
