When you were a child did you ever feel misunderstood? So many of us feel different as early as we can remember. The messages we receive don’t always tell us that it’s okay to be who we are as children, and we want to change that. We want to bring this message to children, through a child’s eyes.
- Can I help my child do the art of writing their story or thoughts? Yes, caregivers are welcome to help children as much as you like.
- Are you going to publish my child’s name or age? No, we will not be sharing any information about families or children who share with us. We do need a mailing address and contact info for the parents to send the gift.
- I have 3 children. Can I send more than 1 submission? Yes, you are invited to send an idea for each child, or even many for each child, with 1 gift per child.
- How can we help our child see the strength in their differences or challenges? We know this is an ongoing process that can start with a conversation. We can talk about own differences or differences, like anxiety, ADHD, or even mental health concerns. What is the other side of the challenge? Creativity, caring for others, thinking about safety, having lots of energy and so many others are connected to having these labels.
- I’m 18 but I have so many ideas I want to share about what messages I wish I had heard. Can I share them? Yes, Inspire welcomes our community to share with us. Working together makes us all stronger. You can choose to donate your gift, or we can offer you a special thank you.
- Help your child think of a way being different can be helpful or is part of who they are and okay. You can also just hear them share with you and write it down.
- Invite your child to make a drawing or piece of art about it.
- Take pictures of them and email it to us at or drop them off/mail them to our office at 1344 Main street.
