The 2nd Annual Winnipeg March for Mental Health is jam-packed with talented performers! We have everything from spoken-word poetry to musicians to dancers – including ANANSI School for the Performing Arts! We are excited to welcome the diverse dance group! Learn more about them:
ANANSI School for the Performing Arts is a group open to children and youth and focuses on spreading African and Caribbean culture in Winnipeg through music, drama, and dance! There are three groups: Lil’ ANANSI (4-7 years), Junior ANANSI (8-11 years), and Senior ANANSI (12 years and up). The group, operating since 2009, has performed at Folklorama as well as community events. ANANSI also works to develop performers and encourage mentorship as the group is run by young professionals in the community who have expertise in the performing arts and are willing to share their talents and experience with all participants.
Currently, ANANSI practices on Saturday afternoons from 3-5pm and are working in partnership with NAfro Dance.
ANANSI School for the Performing Arts is one of our many amazing acts of the Winnipeg March for Mental Health. Catch ANANSI on May 6, 2017 at St. Vital Park from 1pm-4pm.
