Resources

Are You Looking To Be At Your Best? Here is a Great Place to Start:

1) Good Nutrition - eating well and eating regularly is a great way to promote health. Sugary food or drink, or items with caffeine can increase feelings of anxiety and a feeling of "stress".

2) Exercise Daily– for at least 30 minutes. Figure out how to get exercise into your daily routine (walk, bike, family activities, sports with friends, play with a pet).

3) Sleep – about 10 hours of sleep per night with a regular bedtime routine is best.

4) Music – Listening to music you enjoy improves mood, especially if it encourages body movement.

5) Doing Things You Love - spending time every day doing things you love, especially if it helps you express yourself: art, photography, music, writing, etc.

6) Having Routine – we all do best when we know what to expect and when. Those who have increased anxiety need it even more, so making life predicable can be incredibly helpful reducing stress and anxiety.

7) Finding Support- feeling supported and cared for while spending time with friends and family (and pets) is generally a great way to promote our health and positive attachment.

8) Aromatherapy - aromatherapy can be a useful tool in promoting self-care, health and improving overall well-being. Various good-quality essential oils are known to positively affect health.

9) Self-care - caring for yourself is a skill that is worth developing and can be used throughout our life time.

10) Practice Mindfulness - practicing "being in the moment" instead of focusing on many things at once or having our minds race promotes body awareness and reduces anxiety.
